Super Hot Stamper

David Gilmour
About Face

  (Item #: gilmoabout_1801_1901)

Our Price: $149.99
Sale Price: $129.00 (You save $20.99 / 14%)

  • An outstanding copy with solid Double Plus (A++) sound from start to finish - exceptionally quiet vinyl too
  • The sound here is richer and more Tubey Magical than just about any release from the '80s I can think of
  • Wonderful three-dimensional space courtesy of ace engineer James Guthrie (The Wall)
  • "David Gilmour released his second solo venture in 1984, following the apparent dissolution of Pink Floyd. He had released a record on his own in 1978, but About Face is much more accessible. The songs show a pop sensibility that Pink Floyd rarely was concerned with achieving. About Face is a well-honed rock album that is riveting from beginning to end."

Super Hot Stamper

David Gilmour
David Gilmour

  (Item #: gilmodavid_1803_1811)

Our Price: $149.99

  • Outstanding Double Plus (A++) sound from first note to last - these sides are big, bold and spacious, just the way we like 'em
  • The bass is killer, tight with real weight, and the drums are punchy - exactly like the better Pink Floyd albums
  • For my money, this is a better sounding recording than The Final Cut or the Roger Waters solo debut
  • "By the time of Gilmour's solo debut, he had not only established himself several times over as an underrated, powerful guitarist in Pink Floyd, but as a remarkably emotional singer..."

Boys and Girls

  (Item #: ferryboysa_1802_1809)

Our Price: $99.99

  • You'll find excellent Double Plus (A++) sound on both sides of this classic Ferry album from 1985
  • This copy was super big, full and lively with plenty of presence and bottom end weight
  • On this record, bigger bass and punchier drums make all the difference in the world
  • "Instead of ragged rock explosions, emotional extremes, and all that made his '70s work so compelling in and out of Roxy, Ferry here is the suave, debonair if secretly moody and melancholic lover, with music to match..."

David Gilmour - About Face

Our Shootout Winner from 2015

  (Item #: gilmoabout_2015)

A distinguished member of the Better Records Rock and Pop Hall of Fame.

For my money this is a far better sounding record than Pink Floyd's eighties releases The Final Cut (1983) or A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987), and the music is pretty darn good as well. If you're a Floyd fan I think you'll enjoy revisiting the album, especially when it sounds as phenomenal as this one does.

Hot Stampers in this case give you a bigger soundfield, more richness and fullness, tighter bass, and more transparency.

A distinguished member of the Better Records Rock and Pop Hall of Fame.

Both sides boast excellent sound and quiet vinyl on this Super Hot Stamper pressing of David Gilmour's 1978 solo debut! For my money, this is a better sounding recording than The Final Cut or the Roger Waters solo debut, and the music is pretty darn good as well.
