  • An outstanding copy with solid Double Plus (A++) sound from start to finish - exceptionally quiet vinyl too
  • The sound here is richer and more Tubey Magical than just about any release from the '80s I can think of
  • Wonderful three-dimensional space courtesy of ace engineer James Guthrie (The Wall)
  • "David Gilmour released his second solo venture in 1984, following the apparent dissolution of Pink Floyd. He had released a record on his own in 1978, but About Face is much more accessible. The songs show a pop sensibility that Pink Floyd rarely was concerned with achieving. About Face is a well-honed rock album that is riveting from beginning to end."

David Gilmour - About Face

Our Shootout Winner from 2015

  (Item #: gilmoabout_2015)

A distinguished member of the Better Records Rock and Pop Hall of Fame.

For my money this is a far better sounding record than Pink Floyd's eighties releases The Final Cut (1983) or A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987), and the music is pretty darn good as well. If you're a Floyd fan I think you'll enjoy revisiting the album, especially when it sounds as phenomenal as this one does.

Hot Stampers in this case give you a bigger soundfield, more richness and fullness, tighter bass, and more transparency.

David Gilmour - David Gilmour

Our Shootout Winner from 2013

  (Item #: gilmodavid_2013)

A distinguished member of the Better Records Rock and Pop Hall of Fame.

Both sides boast excellent sound and quiet vinyl on this Super Hot Stamper pressing of David Gilmour's 1978 solo debut! For my money, this is a better sounding recording than The Final Cut or the Roger Waters solo debut, and the music is pretty darn good as well.
